5.2 - Probationary Trooper Training Program

California Highway Patrol | Standard Operating Procedures

To advance past the Probationary Trooper stage, the Probationary Troopers must complete and pass a exam. These events are announced by FTO's.

The Exam will consist of both classroom and practical in game knowledge. The classroom section will consist of essential information that all Troopers will be expected to know and perform their duties with.

The practical application portion of the application will consist of use of codes, performing traffic stops, vehicle pursuit policy, RTO Callouts, vehicle management, uniform management and basic room/building clearing and firearm tactics.

Please NOTE that the probationary must stay for the duration of the training. Inability to perform the training in its entirety will result in automatic failure from the course.
